About Young's Korean Restaurant

Small, straightforward restaurant whipping up an array of traditional Korean dishes.

Young's Korean Restaurant is a korean restaurant in Rochester, New York. It is listed at 120 Mushroom Blvd, Rochester, NY 14623, which places it among the local businesses of Rochester that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Rochester, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–2 pm. It is closed on Monday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (585) 427-7650. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 416 reviews, which is a strong result for a korean restaurant in Rochester and suggests consistent service.

The beef soup had more green onions than beef despite the price justifying more beef. I thought the food was overall okay.

Very small mom and pop korean spot. In town from Texas and really enjoyed the food. Ordered the veggie japchae and the veggie pancake. Took the rest back to my hotel to eat later. Felt bad as I wasnt able to take the rest of the side dishes. I tried to eat as much of those as possible.

Gloomy Saturday in Rochester turned into a tiny comfort-food victory at Young’s Korean Restaurant β€” a cozy, family-run spot that’s worth the reservation they politely ask you to make. I was lucky today; it wasn’t busy and we slipped into a table fast. From the first bite it felt like a warm hug. The Sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) arrived bubbling in a black stone pot β€” bright, deeply orange broth with little pockets of soft tofu that practically melt on your tongue. It’s soulful, gently spicy, and layered with savory umami β€” the kind of soup that clears out the cobwebs from a gray day and makes you want a second bowl. The bibimbap was a beautiful bowl of textures and colors: perfectly fried egg on top, thinly shredded carrots and daikon, tender zucchini ribbons, crisp greens and well-seasoned minced beef waiting to be mixed. Once you stir everything together the rice soaks up the savory-sesame goodness and becomes ridiculously satisfying. The banchan spread deserves a shout-out β€” classic kimchi, cucumber kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, braised potatoes and silken tofu dressed with a little chili oil (see pictures). Each side is simple, clean, and made with care β€” small plates tha

Good Korean food. I came here on friday around 6:30pm and the restaurant wasn’t busy. The decor inside gives the 2000ish vibe, feels like we go back in time. I ordered Pork bulgogil and chicken gaejang. Food came out after 5 minutes and it was tasty, a long with side dishes. Since there is 1 waitress and 1 chef, it may have long waiting time if the restaurant is busy. I had to wait a little bit to get my bill, since the lady was busy in the kitchen. They are friendly, as an old couple run the business. Will come back in the future
